Memorial Day Weekend

Friday: Got my huurr did. Got a good amount cut off, with my thin hair it doesn't look too good long. Decided to go short for the summer, I like it okay. I think I'll like it more once it grows out just a tad. It was a GNO, that's Girls Night Out for those who have trouble with acronyms. Had dinner @ The Front Page in Ballston and then went to see Sex and the City 2 (along with all the other under 30's in Arlington). The movie wasn't as bad as I had been expecting (especially from the HORRIBLE reviews) but it definitely wasn't as good as the first one, and it didn't hold a candle to the TV show. But it was a good night with the girls.
Saturday: The boys had a BBQ @ their place. Jen and I arrived @ 4:30 with hot dogs, watermelon and doritos in hand. What else do you need for an awesome BBQ. It was great seeing everyone (Avery and Allison made the trek from Charlotte and Richmond). The dizzy bat made an appearance. I did not partake, as last time I did the dizzy bat...it kicked my butt.
Sunday: Met my parent's at Army/Navy Country Club for lunch. And then headed down to the pool for a few hours. It wasn't nearly as crowded as I had anticipated, and finding a lounge chair was easy. Took a few dips in the pool to cool off though..it was pretty warm. After stopping @ McDonald's for a small vanilla cone, SO good and pretty sinless (as far as ice cream goes), headed back to Arlington to shower and get ready. Went to Megan Hale's for a pre-game. We had every intention of hiking into DC for Tina's bday. But when we found out the bar was closing @ midnight, and it was already 10:30...wasn't going to happen. We decided to stay local and go to Carpool, where Sarah proceeded to talk to the sketchiest guy ever...complete with a shirt basically unbuttoned to his belly button and chest hair sticking out. The night was made by their awkward conversation and how mad he got when she proceeded to dump her "boyfriend" (a guy we were with, that she's not actually dating) in front of him and then refuse to bring her "baby blues back to his balcony." haha, it was amazing.
Monday:Another pool day. But it was HOT. Multiple dips in the pool were necessary. And even then, sweat was beading after 5 minutes. We decided to come home, shower and then make our way to the Waterfront in Georgetown for dinner. We ended up @ Farmer's and Fishers, a restaurant that is in a Co-Op with local farmers throughout the country. It was amazing food (fried chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies) and provided amazing people watching. After dinner, we walked to the gelateria to get some gelato, stracciatella for me...of course. We completed our night, eating our gelato and overlooking the waterfront with a nice breeze.
It was definitely one of the most relaxing, yet fun-filled weekends I've had in awhile. If this is any indication of how summer will be, bring it on!
